BPSC Teacher is one of the most popular teaching jobs in Bihar. The recruitment is conducted through the Bihar Public Service Commission for government school teacher posts at different levels such as Primary Teacher, Middle School Teacher, Secondary Teacher and Higher Secondary Teacher.

The salary of a BPSC Teacher depends on the class level. A teacher appointed for Classes 1 to 5 does not get the same basic pay as a teacher appointed for Classes 11 and 12. The basic pay, allowances and final in-hand salary increase with the teaching level.

BPSC Teacher recruitment remains important in Bihar because TRE vacancies are released for primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary levels. For 2026, reports around TRE 4.0 said that more than 40,000 teacher vacancies were expected, but BPSC also warned candidates to rely only on official notices because fake recruitment notices were circulating online.

Bihar had raised DA for state government employees and pensioners from 55% to 58% in October 2025. For a 2026 practical estimate, 58% DA is used here unless a later Bihar government order gives a different rate.
